Ask anyone with a general knowledge of the bush and they will tell you one of the most fundamental rules of survival is safety in numbers. Reduce your chances of being picked off and run with the herd, which is something that applies to other areas of life as well.
Whilst most of South Africa’s top brass continue to play dumb about the nature of the $10 million ‘donation’, given to Jack Warner and his cronies as part of that legacy program of course, Tokyo Sexwale has broken rank and admitted that all might not have been above board. The BBC reports:
“Where are the documents, where are the invoices, where are the budgets, where are the projects on the ground?” asked Mr Sexwale.
“If they are not there, you are going to leave the FBI [US Federal Bureau of Investigation] interpretation intact,” he said.
“I was part of the feeling at the time – it’s a good thing, this altruism (towards the African diaspora in the Caribbean). The question is going to be: ‘What was done to make sure that your good intentions – you as the giver – have been realised?'”
That’s all good and well Tokyo, but you do know that when it comes to these mystery co-conspirators, your name is still on the chopping block? I guess we will just have to wait for the infighting to escalate before the real dirt starts getting dished.
