I have been watching The Simpsons since day dot, and whilst I don’t watch it that much anymore, I still enjoy the odd episode. But for avid fans out there, who have watched all 26 seasons, this may come as a surprise: Homer and Marge are separating in season 27.
Before you start to panic, let’s clarify what that means, exactly.
According to producer Al Jean, the yellow-skinned couple will “legally separate in the upcoming season premiere in September”.
In the premiere, it’s discovered after all the years Homer has narcolepsy and it’s an incredible strain on the marriage. Homer and Marge legally separate, and Homer falls in love with his pharmacist, who’s voiced by Lena Dunham. We’ll have cameos from the other women from ‘Girls.’
Now that’s an interesting group of cameos.
The Huffington Post does make a very valid point which should also help to quell your panicky thoughts.
Jean didn’t say how long the separation would last, but given the show’s history, it’s a safe bet the pair will be reunited by the end of the episode.
Let’s hope that’s the case. I honestly don’t know what my father would do without watching the show. We would have to talk about life and stuff.
