Ah, the humble sock. Keeping feet warm since… A very long time ago.
But long gone are the days of the dreary black/navy/match-your-suit sock. (I think we can mumble a little thank you under our breath whilst the boss isn’t looking.) We have ushered in a sort of ‘sock revolution’, and it’s looking great.
The question, though, is what do those colourful, patterned socks mean?
Apparently, wearing your Harrys or your Wallys or your Pineapples means you are rebellious, intriguing and successful. Let’s be honest. Who doesn’t want to be those three things?
In a world where conformity often reigns supreme, it takes a bold individual to throw on a pair of socks covered in arbitrary neon colors and proudly exhibit them in public.
Those people out there who “refuse to let social standards dictate what adorns their feet” are the ones changing the world.
According to a study done at Northwestern University, wearing different clothes can affect ones mood and personality, from outfit to outfit.
Clothes invade the body and brain, putting the wearer into a different psychological state.
This means that wearing your power suit gives you confidence, or wearing your flowing summer dress makes you feel relaxed. Thus this conclusion:
Wearing a crazy pair of socks might help us feel braver and more unpredictable, leading us to uncharted waters and, in turn, greater success in life. Today, everyone from tech executives to former presidents are donning them. Accordingly, one might say there’s a palpable connection between crazy socks and successful people.
There we go. Presidents? They’re joining in on the sock revolution? Well then, so should you.
Take the 2ov team for example. Some of us had very NB meetings today, and obviously donned a pair of SexySocks for that little confidence boost.
