When President Barack Obama finally created his own Twitter account (then used it to bait Bill Clinton) the world sat up and took notice. Since its creation two weeks ago, the account has racked up over two-and-a-half million followers, not surprising considering the rather powerful position Obama currently holds.

It is rather strange then that Silvio Berlusconio, three-time Italian Prime Minister and rumoured womaniser extraordinaire, has an Instagram account that at present boasts a mere 7 700 followers. This is, after all, the man responsible for such quotes as these below:

That top one, by the way, is Berlusconi sharing a gun and a chuckle with now-deceased Muammar Gaddafi, Libyan despot and all around bad guy. I have dubbed the final of the five pictures ‘Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest’.

Fans of pictures of politicians with dogs may have just hit the jackpot, whilst there is also a healthy smattering of lovely ladies on the former prime minister’s arm.
