As a professional athlete, there are some things you can train for, the things where the hours of training are evident in every aspect of your on-field performance.
Then there are some things that a man is just born with, like the ability to grow a luscious beard and throw down some hard core high fives. Unfortunately Hurricanes flanker Blade Thompson was only blessed with the former, and as you can see his celebratory hand slap with centre Rey Lee-Lo didn’t exactly go to plan.
The Hurricanes did manage to saunter to a 29-5 victory but the game will be most remembered for the slow-motion face slap the big man administered to himself.
Tough luck son, way to take it on the chin.
