Dave Grohl – former drummer of grunge rock legends Nirvana, frontman of the ever-popular Foo Fighters and one of the most loved men in music.

Paul McCartney (Macca to the uninitiated) – one of the most important musicians of all time, currently known to most people under 20 as the guy who sings with Rihanna and Kanye on that dope track.

Fortunately not everyone was dropped on their heads as children and people still turn out in big numbers to watch McCartney live in concert. His Saturday night gig at London’s 02 Arena saw the former Beatle introduce an unexpected guest to great fanfare. Here’s TIME:

The duo first performed the song at the 2009 Grammy Awards with Grohl on drums. They’ve also collaborated on a Grammy Award–winning track for Grohl’s documentary Sound City, called “Cut Me Some Slack.”
