Your typical ‘frat boy’ and his buddies are probably going to pop a halfie over this but it’s not exactly what you might think. There is a new craze doing the rounds and it’s something the kids are calling ‘frexting’. Go on, bust out the thinking cap and solve that one.
Yes, correct, it’s a mashup of ‘friendship’ and ‘sexting’ and it involved female friends sending racy photos to one another. So what’s the reasoning behind these saucy exchanges then? Here’s Bustle:
…it’s allowing your sexuality to manifest in a way that will never come back to haunt you— you don’t have to worry about a critical male gaze or that a boyfriend you send it to will do something with vindictive with it later.
I guess you better hope you never fall out with that bestie of yours. What exactly constitutes an appropriate response?
Frexting etiquette includes replying with positive emojis, including but not limited to the little fire, a cat with hearts for eyes and clapping.
That’s right, there’s now a list of appropriate emojis one can use. I imagine any food and animal-related emojis are a serious no-no, as is replying with a LOL or variant thereof.
This one will do nothing to dispel that notion of pillow fights in underwear at every sleepover…
