Last month saw the launch of ‘Fine Wining’ at HQ, and because of it’s huge success, it is back again, and this time the restaurant will be teaming up with another one of the Westerns Cape’s most luxurious wine farms.
For the month of May, HQ will work with Ken Forrester Wines to provide guests with the ultimate dining experience.
You and your friends will be eased into the evening with a glass of bubbly and an aperitif. After this, you’ll enjoy HQ’s iconic 3-course meal which will be paired with a selection of Ken Forrester Wines. The menu caters to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian individuals, and will certainly get the gastronomic juices flowing.
You’ll start the evening with a beetroot cured salmon carpaccio on crostini with lemon, pepper and dill crème fraiche as an appertif, paired with Ken Forrester Sauvignon Blanc. That delicious signature salad that I am in love with and could probably eat before every meal for the rest of my life will follow – cos and iceberg lettuce salad with toasted pine nuts, parmesan shavings, dressed in Dijon mustard paired with Ken Forrester Petit Chenin Blanc.
Mains will be what you’ve been dreaming of since your last visit: 250g sirloin steak cooked to perfection and served with Café de Paris butter sauce and skinny fries paired with Ken Forrester Petit Pinotage (The all important veg option is duxelle stuffed portobello mushrooms topped with parmesan cheese and baked). Dessert, paired with Ken Forrester’s Noble “T” Late Harvest, is a deconstructed winter fruit crumble with almond, orange and honey ice-cream.
Ricky Botsis will ensure the evening lives up to its mantra of ‘Elegant Simplicity’ by performing smooth jazz tunes.
I know. And I always know a good thing when I see it.
Tickets are R300 for May 27th and can be purchased via phone – 021 424 6373 – or alternatively via email – info@hqrestaurant.co.za.
