Uuuurgh, this is the worst. This is like going to join a PETA march dressed head to toe in a bunny-skin coat. Not ideal. And, when one thinks about all the scandal that has come out of the church over the past decades, it’s just more bad light.

Take this pastor from Michigan. His name is Matt Makela and he is very anti-gay. He is also married with five kids. He is known for routinely arguing that “gay people should sublimate their same-sex desires”. His Facebook page, which is now closed, was used to compare “homosexuality to alcoholism” and showcase his somewhat undesirable personal views about transgender people.

Oh, he also has an account on Grindr.

The account surfaced after the guys at Queerty did a bit of snooping on Grindr. Queerty contacted Pastor Makela who “confirmed the authenticity of the screen captures but declined to comment”. He also told the website that he had resigned from his position at his church and that his wife and the senior pastor has been “made aware of his extracurricular activities”.

Makela’s church has since sent out a letter to the congregation about his disappearance. Read it HERE. It’s great.
