Most news-related chat around the water coolers today will still focus on Sunday’s crazy shootout in Waco, Texas, a biker gang battle that left nine dead and around 20 seriously injured. The incident took place in the parking lot of the popular ‘Twin Peaks’ restaurant, renowned for its scantily-clad waitresses who leave little to the imagination.
Now more details are slowly coming to light as to how exactly the gruesome scene unfolded between the Bandidos, Cossacks and Scimitar gangs. Some backstory on the gangs from Vice:
The Bandidos, formed in 1966 around Houston, is best known for its rivalry with the Hell’s Angels, and has the distinction of being one of the most dangerous outlaw motorcycle clubs in the country…
The Cossacks were established three years later, also in Texas, with the motto, “We take care of our own.”
…less is known about the Scimitars, but they appear to be friendly with the Cossacks.
So what caused these three gangs to resort to such violent means?
Sgt. Patrick Swanton, the spokesman [ for the Waco Police Department], said the confrontation had started as a parking dispute and quickly escalated from a fistfight to a melee involving chains, knives, clubs and — ultimately — gunfire.
I have seen some folk on Long Street get antsy over someone nicking their parking but this is next level stuff.
