If you’re a regular reader of this site you’ll know that we were definitely in the Manny Pacquiao camp leading up to the big fight earlier this month. If you would like to play catch-up you can start with Floyd’s extensive record of domestic violence, move onto his post-bout name-calling (to be fair both camps were a little guilty of this) and then finish with the absurd amounts of money both boxers earned for the fight (at least Manny spends his with a bit of class).
Floyd is currently enjoying some down-time after grinding out a points victory against Pacquiao, taking the chance to visit Oakland’s Oracle Arena for the Golden State Warriors playoff game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Here’s the crowd’s reaction to his appearance on the big screen courtesy of Huffington Post:
As you can see it seems the anti-Floyd sentiment has increased since the fight that failed to deliver on its billing, although his laughter and smiling in the face of the crowd’s taunting shows how much of a hoot he cares about public perception.
The courtside tickets are said to have set the boxer back a cool $36 000 dollars which, by his exorbitant standards, is the equivalent of us mere mortals popping over to Newlands for a Stormers match.
