North Korea continues to be a place of mystery for many outsiders. What really goes on in there? What does it looks like? What is life like?
CNN managed to get a reporter and film crew to give us the low-down on the schooling system, and the news us rather unsurprising.
According to CNN’s Will Ripley, the “North Korean school system is designed to turn out devoted, disciplined citizens… and utter devotion to their supreme leader”. All tuition is free, school uniforms are supplied and kids “don’t even know the meaning of tuition”.
Play time hardly looks like it’s fun or stimulating, but that’s also alright, as the country strongly oppresses any form of individuality.
Know what else they don’t know the meaning of? Facebook.
What is Facebook?
Only a select few have access to the internet, as all history is taught differently to the rest of the world.
With regards to sports, “North Korean athletes are expected to be the best in the world”, whilst university studies are focused mainly on science and technology.
