The Jayde Panayiotou case sure is turning out to be riveting (although it shouldn’t be and I have complete respect for what has happened).
In an update, Jayde’s husband, Christopher, is now on 24-hour suicide watch. He is currently awaiting trial at the St Albans prison in PE and hoping for bail, and it is feared that he may try to harm himself. If his bail is refused he will be held until 19 June at least, when the three accused men will appear in court.
In the same story, Luthando Siyoli, one of the men accused in Jayde’s murder, appeared in court this morning and “has turned State witness against his two co-accused”. It is alleged that Siyoli was the one who pointed police in Christopher’s direction, setting the trap for the second payment that got him caught.
This is Shrien and Anni Dewani all over again, I fear.
