The United Kingdom goes to the poll today to vote for a new Prime Minister in the General Elections. In all honesty, we haven’t really been following it much as our token Pom here at 2ov has been away for a while and she would have been the one to teach us everything and explain. I did watch the ITV Leader’s Debate last month and managed to ascertain a few things:
1 – Ed Miliband (from the Labour Party) has quite nice hair:
2 – Nigel Farage (from UK Independence Party) looks like he is better suited to be a dragon on Dragon’s Den:
3 – David Cameron (from the Conservative Party) does a brilliant duck face pout:
4 – I cannot understand a word that Nicola Sturgeon (from the Scottish National Party) says:
Yes, I may be making light of the elections, but it is a very important day not only for the UK but for the US and European countries.
There could be some tricky outcomes, with the SNP wanting to remove Scotland from the United Kingdom and UKIP wanting to remove the UK from the EU. On top of all this, there is a huge chance that the election will result in a “hung Parliament”…
The latest opinion poll suggests there will be a hung Parliament in which no single party has a majority of the 650 seats and there is no clear winner.
Thankfully, TIME can answer a few questions and explain a lot of things – that’s why we’re just going to leave it to the professionals. They’ve put together a handy guide – click HERE.
