There is no such thing as a pretty hijacking, but what you see above is definitely going to get your blood boiling.
Crime Watch posted a video of 86-year-old Sue Smuts falling victim to an opportunistic criminal in Somerset West last Wednesday at around 15:30 in the afternoon. Here’s their YouTube channel describing the incident:
Smuts said she had just stopped at home when the man knocked on her car window.
She opened her window and locked the door a small opening that the hijacker put his hand through, the door unlocked and he ripped Smuts out of the car.
The villain drove off in her white Fiat Uno, with the R271 groceries she bought at Pick n Pay in Waterstone Mall.
This one does have something of a happy ending as the hijacker was later apprehended by police.
Exercise caution when behind the wheel folks, it’s a big bad world out there.
