Well, you can chuck another name into the ring – although if rumours are to be believed we may be on to something here.
Now despite the fact that both James May and Richard Hammond have announced they won’t continue their involvement Top Gear is set to go on. The latest name thrown into the mix? Will Mellor.

Will has emerged as one of the favourites for the job. Bosses think he would be perfect to take the helm and would bring a younger audience with him that has grown up with him on ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ and ‘Hollyoaks’.
He also has a lot of female admirers who could tune in, which is something that Clarkson didn’t have.
Really, Jeremy wasn’t popular with the ladies? There is some justice in this world after all. Despite the fact that over a million people signed a petition demanding Clarkson be reinstated the host was fired last month for repeated indiscretions.
That Will Mellor looks a catch though and by all accounts he is a pleasure to work with. Here’s hoping…
