The bloke widely regarded as the best damn looking gentleman walking the planet hurt his face – and the world went mad.

Brad Pitt arrived at Saturday night’s Light Up the Blues Concert in Los Angeles, which helps those suffering from autism, sporting a little gash to the side of his face. Of course this led to mass hysteria, and Brad was forced to address the issue.

Many were disappointed to hear he wasn’t running a club where men beat each other in dark alleys and underground parking lots, or maybe he was and he wasn’t going to talk about it. Anyway he offered this explanation, reported here in Stuff:

This is what happens when you try to run up steps in the dark, with your arms full, wearing flip flops. Turns out if you then try to stop your forward momentum with your face, the result is road rash.

The 51-year-old didn’t let the scratch slow him down as he won a Fendi guitar with a bid of $23 000, money which will go towards aiding autism research.

Good work Brad, but in the future try and protect that massive money maker you call a face.
