It was only last week we wrote about the rather odd occurrence of hiring strippers for funerals, which we didn’t expect to be topped for quite a while. Alas, we have underestimated us humans once more.
Funeral-goers in Zimbabwe were left surprised when some of those attending stripped down to their birthday suits, apparently paying homage to the deceased’s love for hiring prostitutes. This from TimesLive:
As the relatives tried to give him a decent send-off, condoms were thrown into the grave, while the crowd said that was what the deceased did and would have wanted.
The funeral only came to order after disturbed mourners intervened.
“I have never seen anything like this. It is unacceptable because it denigrates the very process of burying a deceased person,” said an elderly woman in attendance.
Hey, at least he will be practising safe sex in the afterlife. I bet there was more than just the one stiff at this funeral. Looks like he went six feet deep.
