It can’t be easy right now for anyone involved in US law enforcement. They might struggle to come by much sympathy, considering they keep gunning down unarmed black men, but there are of course honest, hard-working men and women getting a rough deal because of the stupidity of their colleagues.
In the wake of recent incidents of police violence the public can’t be blamed for filming law enforcement going about their daily routines. Sometimes, however, this backfires in spectacular fashion. Case in point this woman, Beatriz Paez, who was filming the US Marshals in California when one guy took exception.
The team were busy investigating some alleged biker gang activity in Los Angeles county when this scene played out. Gawker reports:
U.S. Marshals and local law enforcement officers had blocked off a stretch of San Juan Avenue and had eight to 10 people lying on their stomachs with their hands on their heads when Paez took out her Samsung cellphone and began recording, she said.
As you can see this did not end well for the cellphone, and it looks like it won’t end well for the marshal either. The incident is under investigation and the phone, we guess, is in bits.
