Sheesh, it’s been a pretty tough week for the country’s morale. I’ve probably heard more nay-saying over the past week than at any other time in recent memory. Fancy a little good news? You best look away now then.
Some folks over at GoEuro recently analysed passports from 50 countries (including their own, Sweden, that number grows to 51) and ranked them according to how easy they make international travel and work. The factors they took into consideration, below from GoEuro:
We ranked the passports based on visa free access as well as various other factors. The ability of a citizen to obtain a passport is a key point when considering the passport value, which is why we also factored in data such as pricing, length of validity, and the amount of hours a citizen must work to obtain their passport. All factors were weighted and scored to produce the ultimate passport ranking.
Alright, so here’s your infographic as to how that analysis plays out…
As you can see we didn’t exactly come out covered in roses. The fact that we rank below such powerhouses as Slovenia, Poland and Mexico is a tad worrying, although we shape up favourably against Thailand, Liberia and Iran.
Small victories right, you gotta take them where you can get them.
