There’s nothing like that frantic ‘morning after the night before’ scramble for your belongings. Wallet check, keys check, phone…phone? Cue big time losers…
Now theft and loss account for an alarming 60% of all claims through Vodacom’s insurance arm, with physical damage accounting for 35% and liquid damage the other 5%. Vodacom made public their list of phones that are most at risk of theft, loss and damage and it makes for interesting reading. Here is the list for theft and loss claims only courtesy of Fin24:
1. Vodafone / Vodacom branded devices
2. Huawei
3. BlackBerry
4. Samsung
5. LG
6. Ericsson
7. Nokia
8. HTC
9. Apple
That’s correct, iPhones are the least stolen smartphone in the country. It is quite the opposite for damage claims, however, although that may have something to do with the higher price of the iPhone range. Here’s the damage claims list:
1. Apple
2. HTC
3. Nokia
4. LG
5. Ericsson
6. Samsung
7. BlackBerry
8. Huawei
9. Vodafone / Vodacom branded devices
I suppose that just shows how fond Apple users are about their goodies. It isn’t going in the bin until it’s broken good and proper, you hear me?
Of course your Apple products don’t need to cost you an arm and a leg, but you knew that already.
