When you’re a presenter on famed sports network ESPN there are millions of envious people waiting to tear you down given half a chance. Reporter Britt McHenry happened to give those lying in wait all the ammunition they needed, however, when she went off on a rant against a towing company employee.
Now details of what happened leading up to the incident are sketchy, but whatever it was it certainly got the feisty blonde all kinds of riled up. Once the video started being shown, both online and across various TV news networks, McHenry was forced to release this apology, quoted here in Deadspin:
In an intense and stressful moment, I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and said some insulting and regrettable things. As frustrated as I was, I should always choose to be respectful and take the high road. I am so sorry for my actions and will learn from this mistake.
Ultimately her attempts to backtrack proved too little too late as ESPN suspended McHenry for one week.
She may find some support in the studio when she returns, but those viewers sans college degree and teeth will prove a little harder to win back.
