Another week, another round of wild speculation as to who will replace Jeremy Clarkson at Top Gear. Although, if the bookies are to be believed, it looks like we might actually be on to something here.
Odds on Philip Glenister taking over from Clarkson have been slashed from 10-1 to 2-1 after more news reports linking him to the job emerged. So who is Glenister? This from the Sydney Morning Herald:
The English actor, known for his role as Detective Chief Inspector Gene Hunt [on the show Life on Mars], replaces The Great British Bake Off host Sue Perkins as the most likely to take on the role…
Glenister has already demonstrated his hosting skills and passion for cars as the presenter for automotive show For the Love of Cars.
The futures of Richard Hammond and James May also remain uncertain after their contracts have also run out, meaning there are currently no contracted presenters for the popular car show.
Perkins, meanwhile, seemed to squash rumours of her hosting the show last week and also posted this gem:
It also means it probably won’t be Jodie Kidd hosting the show, which will leave many sad as the combination of drooling over fast cars and ogling pretty women has been their only form of entertainment for years.
