Remember last week when the War Memorial in Uitenhage was set alight by members of the EFF? It was reported that 10 of the members “allegedly” (my goodness I love that word) placed a burning tyre around the statue. Here are the photos:
Only now has it come to light that members of the SAPS stood by and did nothing to arrest these scoundrels. What rubbish. Police spokesperson Basil Seekoei has said that they have “put in a request for anyone with information to assist us. We’ve put forward a lead detective to investigate this case”. Well, had they arrested the people then and there they wouldn’t have to be investigating now, would they? Surely they could have simply been arrested for vandalism right then and there?
Anyway, perhaps fetch a Kleenex (maybe even your passport) before you watch the video.
