Shame, poor me. I’m glad no one from the general public could see me shout out “BUNNIES!!” across the office.
I mean, just LOOK:
That, my friends, is a giant rabbit. It’s certainly bigger than the dog back home.
This is one-year-old Jeff the Rabbit and his father, Darius, on the right. Darius is four feet long and weighs three and a half stone (22kg). Jeff is fast catching up at three foot eight, and could very well overtake his dad as the world’s biggest bunny.
As far as being pets go? Owner Annett Edwards says “They’re no different to keeping smaller rabbits. In fact, I’d say they’re easier. The giant rabbits plod around like dogs, where as the small rabbits, they tend to burrow and be scatty. They’re very laid back. They’ve been handled since they were tiny. If you put a lot of time into [the] animals, you get a nice bunny back”.
These guys are Continental Giant Rabbits and live in rural Worcestershire, England, so I’m sure you can go visit them on your next trip. Alternatively, here are some for sale.
