Here’s some good news, kids – whilst there are some crazy captains flying up in our skies, there are also some great ones who remember the overall ethos of flying is to get us there safely.
On an easyJet flight on Tuesday, one passenger got out of hand because he had to wait a long time for a sarmie. The flight, travelling from Geneva to Pristina in Kosovo, had to redirect to Rome after the man punched a female flight attendant, knocking her to the floor. The man reportedly continued to hit her once she was on the floor.
I was totally shocked. I can’t understand how anyone could react so violently over a sandwich.
A witness recounted that the man had shouted “I’ve been waiting for hours, I’m hungry”.
According to Airmilescalculator.com, the flight duration is 1hr 58min…
I do understand the concept of “hangry” though.
On landing in Rome the passenger was arrested.
EasyJet reminded all travellers that “the safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew is always easyJet’s priority” and that they “do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour on board and always push for prosecution”.
