Well here’s an interesting little piece of news to get your thoughts buzzing for the day. Imagine dying from rectal trauma? Err, no thanks.
Sadly the grandson of Jean Paul Getty (yes, of Getty Oil, the Museum and the research Institute, with a family fortune worth $5billion) has died. He was found in his bathroom with his pants down by a friend who called 911 at about 14h18. The friend was escorted from the home by police and has been cooperating with detectives as a witness.
We’re told he suffered a traumatic injury to the rectal area and paramedics found significant bleeding.
According to TMZ the friend is actually an ex-girlfriend, and the police are handling this as a death under suspicious circumstances”.
It has been reported that there was “blunt force trauma” but it’s still unclear whether that was caused by a fall or something else. Getty apparently also had been complaining of not feeling well over the past few months and had a doctors appointment booked for Wednesday (today).
According to a TMZ source, Andrew Getty and his ex “have a storied history with the LAPD. Cops have been to his residence 31 times, mostly for domestic disturbances. Our sources say they have both frequently been under the influence of drugs during the police visits”. On top of that, Getty had a restraining order on the girl, and she has also broken into his house numerous times. Another source at The LA Times has said there are “no immediate indications the woman was involved in Andrew Getty’s death”.
The Getty family has been plagued with tragedy over the years: there have been suicides, brain tumours, kidnappings and secret families.
