With the new James Bond film on the horizon, filming is in full swing. Understandably the crew needs a break in between scenes and by golly did they have a good spout of downtime whilst 30 000 feet in the air a few days ago…
Charter aircraft company Hi Fly flew the crew from Stansted Airport in the UK to Mexico City and they have lodged a massive complaint to the producers of Spectre. Turns out the passengers got a bit out of hand.
According to Hi Fly, the following went down:
- Removed a safety pin from one of the aircraft’s doors – which experts say could have resulted in a mid-air disaster;
- Vomited and urinated in the aisles;
- Flouted the aircraft’s strict no-smoking ban;
- Verbally abused cabin crew and other passengers.
The report to Eon told of reckless behaviour by the film crew, “fuelled by excess alcohol, had compromised the safety of the Airbus 330 and had breached international aviation regulations”.
Cleaning staff at the airport in Mexico City said the inside of the plane looked like a “pack of wild animals had gone through it”.
Hi Fly has agreed to fly the crew back to the UK on Wednesday but have insisted that no alcohol be served or consumed on board. Eon has also apologised to all of the crew members.
Daniel Craig and the rest of the cast were not on the flight.
As one person commented on The Daily Mail report, “Always fun and games till the bloody door flies off halfway through your flight”.
