You may be aware that in the US they have a lane especially for those carpooling on their way to work. You could consider it a little ‘thank you’ from authorities for reducing traffic and nasty car emissions. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that a similar idea in this country might not fare so well, with our bus and taxi lanes being about the best we can offer.
Of course there are cheeky and creative law-breakers all over the world (like this guy who made a wooden passenger) but we must applaud one driver in Washington who chose more interesting company; namely Dos Equis’ ‘The Most Interesting Man in the World’. This from NYDaily:
A Washington State trooper couldn’t resist snapping a photo — and issuing a ticket — after he pulled over a man in the HOV lane Tuesday using the famous face as a phony passenger…
That’s because the HOV cheat used a cardboard cutout of the Dos Equis beer pitchman, adorned with a polo shirt and wearing his seat belt.
Now how does this cardboard cutout shape up as a passenger? Well the unnamed driver only had good things to say, telling the trooper “He is my best friend. He just sits here and doesn’t talk”. Can’t say I can argue with that logic, any passenger who helps me save time in traffic, shuts their gob and doesn’t fiddle with my music is good by me.
