Apparently Bishopscourt in Cape Town is the suburb to live in at the moment. It’s beautiful and leafy and has easy access to main roads and means your kids can get into top schools in the area, not to mention Kirstenbosch is on your doorstep.
According to Pam Golding Properties agent Myrna Duveen, the high prices for homes in Bishopscourt are not deterring buyers, who are mostly “younger families drawn by the access of the suburb to good schools and proximity to Cape Town and its international airport”. According to the PG database, they have over 100 people looking to buy in the area, and that buyers compromise of approximately 29% of out-of-town buyers who are mainly from Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, with the balance of purchasers mainly from the Western Cape. Apart from established wealth, there’s a lot of ‘new’ money here, particularly from upcountry.”
So what’s it going to take for you to live in the same ‘burb as the Archbishop?
You can start off with this baby, for a sweet R5.4million. You’ll get three-beds, two-baths and garage and pool.

And if you know anything about anything you’d have a stab with a cheeky offer at R5 million. Surely?
So that’s the one end of the Bishopscourt scale. If you can muster up a relatively large trust fund, then you can go straight for this one.

I would love to tell you the price but it’s a POA which essentially means that if you have to ask then you can’t afford it. It comes with seven en-suite bedrooms, seven lounges, parking for 14 cars, a view to die for… You could quite easily get six of your friends together and buy the place together as a weekend getaway from the city if you wanted to.
Seriously.
