The UCT wakeboard & waterski club. How the times have changed. The most extravagant ‘club’ I had at uni was the cheese and wine society. I had every intention of learning a lot about wine, and all the club did was end up as a Tuesday piss up in a gloomy room. I did learn the difference between wine I like and wine I would rather not drink, and that knowledge has long been used.
I wish we had had this. It looks like such fun. Imagine you have come from the farm in the Karoo, where there is not much water, to UCT and now you get to spend weekends at Misverstand dam showing off your newly learned skills instead of shearing sheep?
Wonderful. They even have an Instagram account.
As Chris from the club explains, they want to showcase how much fun they have, whether a beginner or an advanced rider. Also, he says, there are plenty of good looking girls in bikinis which is always a bonus.
