Good grief I love Facebook notifications. There is NOTHING better than when you like a friends sunset/coffee/french bulldog image and then get notified when their third cousin seven times removed comments. It truly MAKES MY DAY.
I spend more time turning off notifications than actually on The Facebook.
And those birthday notifications. AAAARGH. If you are near and dear to me, I will KNOW your date of birth and you shall receive a phone call from me, because you are a very important piece in my game of life.
So, this is how you turn them off, because as much as you enjoy stalking the popular kids from high school that got fat and/or bald, you don’t care enough to wish them well on their birthdays.
On a computer, do this:
Put your mouse over that little picture of the earth and click.
That will take you into Notifications (a very important word in todays language).
See where it says Birthdays with the little pink present? Click on Edit and turn them off. Voila.
You can do it on your phone app by clicking MORE in the bottom right corner, scroll down to SETTINGS, scroll down to NOTIFICATIONS, and again find that pink present… click on that and then remove the little blue tick from the box.
Happy birthdays.
Or, as The Huffington Post so truly says, “Live the rest of your life as a friendless hermit”.
