I don’t know about you, but I am super excited for this weekend. Not that it there is anything out of the ordinary planned – I’m just thankful that I don’t have an alarm set for tomorrow morning and can spend the first half of the day either drinking coffee in bed and reading the property pages or at a market, in my own time.
I tend to put weekends on a pedestal. They need to be celebrated. I suggest you gather a few friends and hit Bree Street, making your first stop HQ, it may well be your last stop too.
Yes, yes, it’s a great restaurant and you’ll eat delish food, but it is a whole lot more than that. It’s a bit of a hidden gem really. You don’t have to eat right away should you get there at 6pm. You can sit at the bar and have a cocktail. You can chatter away in the courtyard. If you’re coming straight from work and have a few last minute emails to send (shame on you on a Friday evening!) you can get comfy on a leather sofa and type away. It’s tranquil yet you won’t feel alone – you’re still in the city, remember.
Once you have eaten your salad, steak and fries, the place really comes alive.
The bar gets pumping, the DJs create some wonderful sounds, and you can’t help but move your body to the bass. DJ Rene will do that to you. If you haven’t experienced his music, I can’t tell you enough times to pop in.
To sum it up, that’s a post work drink and dinner and a night out all in one place.
You’re welcome.
