This makes the first class suite on an Emirates A-380 look as luxurious as travelling in a suitcase.
As if that is adequate enough for a real prince. Charles needs to travel in real style, friends. Like this:
One could mistake this for the interior of Air Force One, but rather it is “The Head of State” – the Airbus A320-232 that Prince Charles and Camilla used for their four day tour of the USA. Originally seating 180 passengers, this plane has been given a facelift inside and now only has space for 26. There is a presidential suite with a double bed (only double?!) and shower, and for VIPs on board there are “luxury clubman style recliner seats”. Haha. Sorry for them.
The use of the French owned plane probably cost around £246 224, but Claremce House explained the costing quite fairly:
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall are on an official visit to the USA behalf of The British Government. Details about travel costs will be disclosed in the usual manner later this year in the Sovereign Grant accounts.
Fun times for the British taxpayers.
If you want to travel in style and cannot be bothered to endure that horrific experience that is the airport (who needs to stand in queues, seriously? No one has time for that) then you can always fly with GetJet. There are some good flights coming up soon which you should look into booking. Remember, it’s Easter weekend and airports are going to be a shit storm – there’s an eight-seater from Cape Town to Lanseria (JHB) for R19k around then, for example. I’m not going to do the math and the worthwhile-ness for you. It’s pretty obvious.
