Hey Tiger, I guess when it rains it pours right?
The dust has long since settled from the ‘sex maniac pornstar shagging spree’ fallout of late 2009 but very little has gone right for the bedraggled golfer over the past few years. His world rating has plummeted, he has yet to win another major tournament, his back has forced him to withdraw from the PGA Tour and now he has been replaced as the poster boy for EA Sport’s flagship golf game.
Say hello to ‘Rory McIlroy PGA Tour’, the Northern Irish world number one bumping Tiger from the game he has championed since 1998. This from ESPN:
EA Sports built its PGA Tour series around Woods from 1998 until it ended its relationship with him in 2013, when Woods was still No. 1 in the world. McIlroy has been No. 1 since August. McIlroy and Woods shared the cover in 2011.
Then again maybe we shouldn’t feel too sorry for him. Don’t forget this is what he had waiting at home for him whilst he was out playing the 19th hole.
Whilst Woods lost a large chunk of change during his acrimonious split from Elin Nordegren it is estimated his net worth stands at around $600 million. Yeah, I think not being front man for a game probably won’t cause him to lose all that much sleep.
