They say there are two things we can count on in this world – death and taxes. I’d like to add a third, which is that anyone who owns a strip club has dabbled in some kind of illicit activity at some point, but I shan’t paint the more honest titty-bar owners out there with one foul stroke.
Wednesday saw murdered Teazers owner Lolly Jackson and Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir say goodbye to some prized assets. Five supercars were auctioned off to pay some of their back taxes, although the auction hasn’t been without drama. City Press reports:
It was a second attempt to sell the cars. A previous auction was delayed in November after a number of Krejcir’s alleged henchmen sidled up to bidders and threatened them. They allegedly told bidders “they are inviting problems” if they bought Krejcir’s beloved vehicles…
But on Wednesday, Krejcir’s Lamborghini Murcielago and Porsche Cayenne, as well as his Bavaria 38 Series Sport Top powerboat, all found new homes. Sars declined to reveal the prices they fetched.
These cars don’t come cheap, of course, but even with the sale SARS will still be nipping at some heels. Krejcir is reported to owe around R140 million and Lolly Jackson about R100 million, which is enough to put many a stripper through medical school.
