Kids, this is why YOU need to start doing some exercise. Firstly, this month’s cover of time magazine shows a picture of a child that could live to be 142, so you need to start setting a good example for your children because when they are 142 I am sure they are going to want to be fit. Secondly, in the off chance you ever have to compete in the 95-and-over 200m indoor race at the British Masters Athletics meet in London, you do not want to be beaten. It’s a miracle you’ve even reached the ripe age of 95, so you’ll want to go down with a but of pride and dignity.
Also, Charles Eugster. He is 95 and he just made a new world record. Seriously. He ran the 200m in 55.48 seconds, easily beating Orville Rogers’ 57.88 time, which was set in 2013.
Charles started exercising in his 80s and eats fresh fruit daily, washing down any post exercise stiffness with a protein shake.
Successful aging requires work, diet and exercise. The huge mental and physical potential of the aged remains unexplored. Bodies can now be rebuilt at any age and a new life started.
The nonagenarian even has a website, where he offers “general tips for winning at life”.
Good lad. He would probably beat me, to be honest.
