Sometimes you find things in the darndest places. Remember that one time when a dirty adult magazine, which you had never before laid eyes on, somehow ended up underneath your bed? I know, the mind boggles.
Well police in Khayelitsha found more than they bargained for when they searched a vehicle in the Western Cape’s largest township. Two men were arrested for possession of some rather unorthodox material. This from TimesLive:
The pair drew the attention of the police after they were seen driving a vehicle with broken canopy windows, said [policeman] Andre Traut.
Their vehicle was searched and six explosive sticks, five detonators and a signal jamming device were found in their possession.
I suppose there are a couple of lessons to be learnt here. For example, when transporting illicit material such as these men were, it is perhaps best to ensure that the vehicle you are driving in attracts as little attention as possible.
Police are unsure as to what the men intended to do with the explosive devices. They are appearing in court today.
