We have had a rocking start to the year, and I’m thinking it is time for a little getaway to refresh the old brain and relax everything else. Leave the cat at home with the house sitter, pack a bag for your wonderful and much adored partner, hustle the kids into the car and get out of town for a few nights. Also, I don’t know about you, but I have noticed it’s slightly darker in the mornings, which makes me feel like we need to grasp the last days of summer and embrace the sunshine.
The most perfect of places to do this is at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, just a two-hour drive from Cape Town.
Why am I suggesting this place to you? Because it caters to all, that’s why.
If you want a tranquil few days of rejuvenation, you can relax by the pool, sip on cocktails and have spa treatments galore.
Want to make it a bit more romantic? Wine and dine yourself and your plus one into the best food coma ever after doing a tour of the nearby winelands.
If making it more about your whole family is what you desire, you can do that to – wonderful activities such as walks, the 4×4 flower safari, horse riding and quad biking are all available, not to mention the long, sandy beaches nearby.
I think I may just leave you with that image lingering in your memory. Who wouldn’t want to make this great escape from city to paradise?
