If you have been to Umhlanga in the past decade you would probably have noticed The Pearls of Umhlanga development. According to the website, “The Pearls of Umhlanga is an opulent resort style, private residential development on the beach that has won many architectural awards & is quite simply the epitome of luxury living”.
Tourists to the area often pay upwards of R10 000 a night for apartments overlooking the warm Indian Ocean, but are met with international standards.
The original phase went up in 2004 and has been a great success – 1-, 2- and 3- bedroom apartments and penthouses have been snapped up over the years and value for money is a high selling point. Compared to the price of places in Clifton, Cape Town, which are around R120 000 a square metre, the Pearl boasts reachable pricing at aroundR40 000 a square metre.
Let’s have a little look at the place, shall we? Grant Pitcher took some amazing shots of The Pearls…
With regards to location, you cannot go wrong. Imagine leaving England two weeks ago and arriving here for your two week holiday? Bliss.
Anant Singh (who produced Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom) is directing new additions to the Pearls development.
Construction on Pearl Sky – which will comprise 322 upmarket residential apartments and a boutique mall – has started, Singh said in Umhlanga yesterday.
Since 2004, the property has gone up 100% in value, says Singh. With these great new improvements, it is surely to surge again.
The Pearl Sky sales office can be contacted on 087 195 0145 or www.thepearls.co.za – give them a call if you want to invest in something worthwhile.
