So you’ve filled your basket with all those online goodies and you’re ready to handle the business end and check out. Now comes the laborious part of the process; postal address, shipping address, personal details, first pet’s name, the list goes on. It’s almost enough to make shopping online tedious, until you remember the queues at your local shopping centre.
Well, Visa users, say hello to the quickest way to part with your money that isn’t a Nigerian prince who has so kindly left you a huge inheritance. It’s called ‘Visa Checkout’ and it’s about to take the hassle out of the hustle. This from Fin24:
Using the technology, consumers enter their shipping and payment information once and they don’t have to re-enter that data again…
When seeing a Visa Checkout button, users of the service enter their username and password to make a payment.
The service has already been used successfully in Australia, the USA and Canada and is now being broadened to a further 16 countries. Users in South Africa can sign up at www.visacheckout.com.
Big rivals Mastercard have also rolled with the times and introduced a similar service called ‘Masterpass’.
Online shoppers rejoice. More time spent checking out some good deals, less time spent checking out.
