Cape Town residents, as happy as we all are, will always wage a war between the Atlantic Seaboard and the Southern Suburbs and which is more lovely to live in.
It all comes down to what you want though: garden, pool, parking for loads of cars etc, and of course, what you can afford.
We have take it upon ourselves to do a little comparison between two Pam Golding properties: an apartment in Bakoven and a house in Constantia, which are both being rented out for R70 000 a month.
Let’s start with Bakoven.
The home has three en suite bedrooms, an extra bathroom, one reception room, two parking bays, open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area that flows onto balcony with splash pool.
Now for Constantia…
Five bedrooms, four bathrooms, three garages, formal and informal lounges, dining room, bar room, covered veranda, wine cellar, generous garaging and staff accommodation and a view of the mountain.
I suppose you need photos, don’t you?
Again, we start with Bakoven:
Aaaaaaand Constantia…
So which would you choose?
It truly is a toss up. For instance, I grew up on a farm, so I love having gardens and space and the odd tree. Also, I like the convenience of a few wine farms within a short distance. So surely Constantia wins?
BUT… I love the ocean, so Bakoven would be perfect.
It’s what one would call a “toss up”.
If I had to choose purely from the links, I would go with…
Bakoven!
And that is purely because it definitely has a pool.
Small things, people, small things.
