Everyone thinks that Bill Gates is the bees knees when it comes to choosing the world’s wealthiest human ($79 billion). Well, according to hedge fund manager Bill Browder, it is actually Putin who holds the winning podium.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin’s wealth is estimated to be at $200 billion.

After 14 years in power of Russia, and the amount of money that the country has made, and the amount of money that hasn’t been spent on schools and roads and hospitals and so on — all that money is in property, Swiss bank accounts, shares, [and] hedge funds managed for Putin and his cronies.

Since the start of his reign, the Russian economy has grown hugely, thus making Putin and anyone associated with him very, very rich.

Take these homes that have been built for head of government staff, Sergei Prikhodko, the deputy head of the presidential administration Vyacheslav Volodin, and several others.

Not too shabby, eh?
