You invite danger when you take wild beasts out of their natural habitat and try to tame them for entertainment purposes. We must all then feign shock when said beast acts on its natural instincts and shows some aggression towards the tasty morsel of human meat parading in front of it.
This crowd at a circus in Egypt got more than they bargained for when they had ringside seats to trainer Faten El-Helw getting up close and personal with a lion. Faten survived the attack and is recovering in hospital, although how soon before she hops back into the cage remains to be seen.
Interesting titbit of information alert, taken from the New York Post:
The lion tamer’s late husband and fellow trainer, Ibrahim El-Helw, is said to have died in 2004 when one of the animals turned on him.
