There’s something about watching a high-speed car chase that gets people very excited. I think it’s because secretly we all dream of driving like a madman, ignoring traffic lights and gunning it the wrong way down the highway.
Monday’s high-speed chase in Los Angeles should make any car chase highlights reel though. An armed man mowed his way through four separate accidents, two different escape vehicles and a hijacking before police eventually shot the suspect in the process of stealing a third vehicle.
The pursuit began at around 5PM in downtown Los Angeles and lasted a full 45 minutes before the suspect was nabbed. The latest news is that the suspect is still alive but his condition is not known.
Check the video up top for the real-life version of Grand Theft Auto, with the whole chase condensed into 81 seconds of madness.
