I’m enough of a man to admit I’m a complete wimp when it comes to horror movies. I watched ‘It’, the movie with the murderous clowns, at far too young an age and still feel a pang of terror every time I flush the toilet. I do wipe my own bum though, so all hope is not lost.
Fans of old-school horror movies will remember 1982’s cult classic ‘Poltergiest’, where a family is terrorised by ghosts after moving into a haunted house. Yeah, not the most original premise but it is still regarded as one of the best scare-flicks of all time.
It was a surprise then that it took all of 33 years for Hollywood to give it another whirl, but judging from the buzz around the remake it sounds like time well spent. Watch the trailer for yourself and see if you’re going to brave it at cinemas.
For other sufferers of coulrophobia (the fear of clowns, don’t say we never teach you anything) be warned, there are graphic scenes of clown-child interaction.
