When ISIS posted a video of a man being burnt alive in a cage, it got people somewhat riled up. Some people ranted on Twitter. Some took to the streets. The King of Jordan decided to fight fire with fire, avenging the gruesome death of his countryman by executing two ISIS-linked prisoners. That may just be the start of his quest for retribution, however, because he is now pulling out the big guns.
According to the Daily Mail things are about to get real. California Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter was quoted as follows:
He [the King of Jordan] said there is going to be retribution like ISIS hasn’t seen,’ Hunter said. ‘He’s angry. ‘They’re starting more sorties tomorrow than they’ve ever had. They’re starting tomorrow. And he said, “The only problem we’re going to have is running out of fuel and bullets”.’
‘He’s ready to get it on. He really is. It reminded me of how we were after 9/11. We were ready to give it to them’.
The king, by the way, happens to be a trained pilot and rumours are circulating that he will personally take part in the upcoming bombing raids.
So where does the Clint Eastwood connection come in? Apparently he quoted the Hollywood heavyweight during his address to Congress. Hunter again:
…the king quoted the scene where Eastwood’s character announces his plan for retribution.
‘Any man I see out there, I’m gonna kill him,’ Eastwood’s William Munny says in ‘Unforgiven.
Any son of a bitch takes a shot at me, I’m not only going to kill him, I’m going to kill his wife and all his friends and burn his damn house down.
He doesn’t sound like the guy who want to make enemies with. Not to promote the spilling of blood but I don’t think it would be a terrible thing if he set a few heads rolling. Roll up your sleeves and get to work my man, we watch on with interest.
