Remember the circus that was the National Assembly last year? And how it was all filmed and broadcast for the country to see? And how we could all watch that EFF MP call Zuma a thief and then replay it over and over with a small grin emerging from your lips?
Yes, well, it seems JZ is a bit nervous about his SONA turning into a heckling contest on February 12th. Speaker Baleka Mbete, who as we all remember lost control of the NA, has even urged Julius Malema not to ask Zuma to pay back the money during the live SONA.
SANEF (SA National Editors’ Forum) complained about the live feed from the NA being cut off last November after The Scuffle. It seems people are afraid it will be cut off again in the case of the SONA getting heated. They met with the PGA, SABC, eTV, Primedia and ANN7 where there was some good news:
Parliamentary officials told the meeting about the improvements made to the broadcast quality and capability that would be operational for Zuma’s State of the Nation address next month.
Oh goodie. It should all be there for us to watch, with no “accidental” editing.
Woolworths has some great microwave popcorn that comes in its very own box. I recommend the lightly buttered flavour. Also, is your drinking game ready?
