If you are lucky enough to possess taste buds, you more than likely enjoy a little chocolate now and again. We know it’s naughty, but tomorrow we’ll go for that jog we’ve been threatening to take the past six months.
When you are trying to name your baby girl Nutella, however, you may have taken things a little too far. Nutella is of course that delicious hazelnut chocolate spread you fork out for once in while when you want to treat yourself.
A court in France has prevented a couple naming their daughter after the spread, ruling that the name would make her the target for bullying. This from BBC:
French parents are usually free to choose the names of their children, but local prosecutors are empowered to report what they deem to be unsuitable names to a family court.
We must agree with the French court’s ruling here. I can only imagine the ridicule we would have given a kid named ‘Black Cat’ or ‘Melrose’. We’ll let you come up with your own puns there, work it.
