Oh, this is a charming story of Christmas/festive season spirit.

There was a Sandton woman (I definitely cannot refer to her as a lady in all of this) who made an international flight DIVERT in December. Gosh. I tried to do that once so that we had to land in the Seychelles instead of Joburg but alas…

Anyway, unfortunately for her, she didn’t pick her seat online and thus could not sit next to her husband on their flight from London to Toronto. This caused her to have an absolute fit (also her TV screen wasn’t working which is a bit of a hack but, life). Nomantangwa Johansson was rude to the flight attendants, “calling them stupid and useless”.

When another attendant tried to sort the situation out, Johansson reportedly “doused her with water and threw the empty water bottle”. It was only later, when she “grabbed an attendant by the arm, pushed her and called her a bitch” that the flight was diverted to Halifax.

WHO in their right mind thinks this is acceptable behaviour?

The good news is she has been fined CAN$6 000 and “ordered to reimburse Air Canada for the CAN$9,400 cost of diverting the plane – (US$12 000 / R137 000 at R11.42/$)”.

It sounds like she still doesn’t have her passport back, though. Quite frankly, whoever has it should just burn it. She should not be welcome on any airline.
